The Ultimate 5-Letter Words Cheat Sheet for Wordle Players

Every Wordle player has had that moment: you know three letters, the clues are staring at you, and your mind goes completely blank. "I KNOW there's a word that fits this pattern, I just can't think of it!"

This cheat sheet won't give you today's answer — that would ruin the fun. Instead, it's a reference guide organized by common letter patterns. When you're stuck, scan the relevant section and let your brain do the connecting.

How to Use This Guide

Don't try to memorize this entire list. Instead:

  1. Identify the pattern you're working with (e.g., "I know it ends in -ANE")
  2. Scroll to that pattern section
  3. Scan the words — your brain will recognize the answer faster than you expect
⚠️ Fair play note: Using this guide during a competitive battle is considered poor form. Save it for solo practice or after you've already solved (or failed) the day's puzzle.

Vowel-Heavy Words (Great for Openers)

These words pack 3-4 vowels, making them excellent for quickly identifying which vowels are in the answer:

WordVowelsCoverage
ADIEUA, I, E, U4 vowels
AUDIOA, U, I, O4 vowels
OUIJAO, U, I, A4 vowels
ARISEA, I, E3 vowels + R, S
OAKENO, A, E3 vowels + K, N
OCEANO, E, A3 vowels + C, N
IRATEI, A, E3 vowels + R, T

Words Ending in -ATCH

Words Ending in -TION

Note: very few 5-letter words end in -TION. Wordle rarely uses this pattern.

Common Double-Letter Words

Double letters trip up many players because you rarely think to try them:

Double Consonants

💡 When to suspect doubles: If you've confirmed 3-4 unique letters and nothing fits, a repeating letter is likely the solution.
