What Is 7 Letter Wordle?
7 Letter Wordle is Wordle with a seven-letter hidden word. You get 6 guesses, and the tiles turn green, yellow or gray to show which letters are right. The game above is unlimited, so you can play one word after another with no daily wait.
The answers are 2,227 everyday seven-letter words such as KITCHEN, RAINBOW and DOLPHIN, with no plain plurals. You can guess any of 15,030 real seven-letter words.
You may also know it as seven letter Wordle, or Wordle with 7 letters.
How to Play 7 Letter Wordle

- Read the colors on each tile.
- Build your next guess from the clues. Seven letters means more to keep track of, so watch the keyboard colors.
- Solve it within 6 guesses, then start the next word.

The answer is DOLPHIN. CERTAIN only finds I and N, but they are in the right spots at the end. BLOSSOM adds a yellow L and a yellow O. Only one answer fits, so the third guess is DOLPHIN.

Best Starting Words for 7 Letter Wordle
We tested opening words against all 2,227 answers and counted how many answers are still possible after the first colors. The best openers that can also be the answer:

CERTAIN and then BLOSSOM is our favorite start. CERTAIN is almost as good as REALIST on its own, and BLOSSOM brings in B, L, O, S and M. After both words, only about 1.5 answers fit on average, which is why so many games can end on the third guess.
Seven-Letter Wordle Tips
Think in chunks
Long words are built from pieces. The most common endings are -ER (211 answers), -LY (117) and -LE (107), and the most common three-letter endings are -TER, -ESS, -AGE, -ENT, -ION and -OUS. CO- starts 93 answers, RE- 86 and PR- 61. Once you spot a piece, the rest is easier to find.
Assume a letter repeats
Two out of three answers (65%) repeat a letter, as in BALLOON or LETTUCE. If you have found five letters and nothing else fits, one of them probably appears twice.
Use the common letters
E is in 66% of answers, R in 53% and A in 49%, followed by I, T, L, N and O. E is also the most common last letter, then Y.
Watch for word families
Even long words have look-alikes: FEATHER, HEATHER, LEATHER and WEATHER, or LIGHTLY, NIGHTLY, RIGHTLY and TIGHTLY. If several fit, use a guess that tests their different first letters.
How Hard Is Seven-Letter Wordle?
It asks the most of your vocabulary, because you have to think of long words that fit. The clues are the best of any length, though: every guess checks seven letters. We had a computer play every answer, opening with a strong word and then only guessing words that still fit. It needed 2.8 guesses on average and never more than 5.
So if you know the words, seven letters can be faster than five. Here is how the lengths compare:
