The league system was one of the most requested features during our beta. Players wanted something beyond just "games played" and "win percentage." They wanted a rank — a badge that says "I'm better than average" or "I'm in the top tier." We built exactly that.
The Five League Tiers
| Tier | Badge | What It Represents |
|---|---|---|
| 🥉 Bronze | Bronze shield | Starting tier. Every new player begins here. |
| 🥈 Silver | Silver shield | Regular player. You're playing consistently and winning games. |
| 🥇 Gold | Gold shield | Experienced player. Strong vocabulary and good deduction skills. |
| 💠 Platinum | Platinum shield | Advanced player. Consistently high performance across modes. |
| 💎 Diamond | Diamond shield | Elite tier. Top players in the game. |
How Tier Advancement Works
Your league tier is determined by your accumulated league points. Every game you play earns points based on performance — completing the Daily Challenge, winning battles, solving puzzles in practice mode. As your lifetime points cross specific thresholds, you advance to the next tier.
The key thing to understand: you never drop tiers. Once you reach Gold, you're Gold forever. The system is designed to recognise cumulative achievement, not punish bad days. If you have a terrible week and lose every battle, your Gold badge stays. Your season ranking might suffer, but your tier doesn't.
Where Your Badge Shows
Your tier badge appears next to your name in several key locations:
- On the leaderboard — next to your name and score
- In battle rooms — your opponent can see your tier
- On your profile — prominently displayed
- In friend lists — friends can see your current tier
The badge serves as a reputation signal. When a Diamond player enters a battle room, the opponent knows they're facing someone serious. When a Bronze player matches against a Gold, they know it's going to be a learning experience.
The Climb: What It Actually Takes
Based on our data, here's roughly how long each tier takes for an average player who plays daily:
- Bronze → Silver: About 1-2 weeks of regular play
- Silver → Gold: About 3-4 weeks
- Gold → Platinum: 2-3 months of consistent play
- Platinum → Diamond: 4-6 months of dedicated play and competitive battling
Diamond is intentionally hard to reach. When we designed the thresholds, we wanted Diamond to feel genuinely prestigious. If everyone had it, it would mean nothing. As of now, fewer than 5% of active players have reached Diamond.
Tier Achievement Rewards
Each tier unlock comes with a one-time gem reward:
- Silver: 10 gems
- Gold: 25 gems
- Platinum: 50 gems
- Diamond: 100 gems
The Diamond payout of 100 gems is the single largest one-time gem reward in the game. It's meant to feel like a genuine milestone — because reaching Diamond is one.
